Highlights:
Teach history through immersive learning using one of the most popular video games: Minecraft.
Journey through time, explore ancient cultures, and create your own civilizations with Through the Ages: Minecraft. Using game-based learning, participants will travel across 6 eras in human history, from the Paleolithic Era to the Industrial Revolution, and practice the Science of Reading along the way.
This course is recommended for grades 3-5 with no prior experiences needed. It is best suited for students who:
- Have interest in Minecraft or collaborative gaming
- Learn well through hands-on experience
- May be struggling with engagement in Language Arts or Social Studies

Course Outline:
The Paleolithic Era
Take a journey back to the beginning of human history and learn how humans survived as hinter-gatherers.
The Neolithic Era
Learn how humans settled down and moved from hunting and gathering to domestication and agriculture.
The Iron Age
Take a look at how the Iron Age brought about wealth and power to select individuals and the influence that trade had on early civilizations.
The Classical Era
See how early forms of government, literature, and art developed during the era known as Classical Antiquity.
The Middle Ages
Learn about life in the middle ages and how a structured government and advancements in trade affected society.
The Industrial Revolution
Explore the inventions that powered the Industrial Revolution and learn about the transformative effects that factories and machines had on civilization.
